SENATOR DAMON THAYER PROVIDES UPDATE ON IMPROVEMENTS TO I-75 IN SCOTT AND GRANT COUNTIES

FRANKFORT, KY (October 10, 2023) — As lawmakers continue preparation ahead of the 2024 Legislative Session, which will include enacting a new two-year state road plan, Senate Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer, R-Georgetown, shares an update on progress from the 2022-2024 state road plan.

Construction funds totaling $25.5 million for Scott County and $14.7 million for Grant County were recently awarded to address conditions on Interstate 75. Surface conditions are being improved from mile points 145.5 to 152.112 and 157.73 to 162.52 in Grant County and mile point 138.424 to 143.239 in Scott County.

“I’m pleased to see the funding prioritized by the Kentucky General Assembly has been put to good use, improving driving conditions for Scott and Grant Counties’ residents and for all others who travel I–75,” Thayer said.

“The I-75 corridor is an incredible economic artery for the commonwealth, so these improvements, along with our progress toward a new Brent Spence Bridge in northern Kentucky, are necessary to maintain the economic growth the state has been experiencing under conservative policymaking and fiscally responsible budgeting,” Thayer added.

“I am eager to continue working with my Senate and House colleagues as we further infrastructure across the bluegrass and maintain stewardship of taxpayer funds.”
