Thayer Secures Significant Funding Supporting Grant County Road Repairs
Frankfort, KY — In his final legislative session as senator for Senate District 17, Senate Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer, R-Georgetown, has once again successfully advocated for and secured millions of dollars benefiting Grant County. The county will receive funding for critical local infrastructure projects over the next two years.
Included in the state’s two-year road plan, House Bill (HB) 266, Thayer helped secure over $17.67 million for planning, designing, obtaining rights-of-way, utility work, and construction of various projects in the county, including
- Over $14 million for resurfacing Interstate 75 from mile point 157.75 to mile point 162.6,
- $2.4 million for updates to US Highway 25 from KY Highway 1994 to KY Highway 491 north junction,
- $629,000 for a bridge project on KY Highway 491 over Bullock Creek, and
- $550,000 for resurfacing KY Highway 22 from mile point 10.75 to mile point 11.54.

As a provision in House Bill (HB) 1, Thayer and the Senate successfully leveraged $450 million from Kentucky’s $3.7 billion budget reserve trust fund to boost the state’s road, bridge and highway repair efforts in the state road plan.
